The January/February 2009 edition of Archaeology magazine features an article ("Witness to Genocide") describing a forensic archaeology project conducted in Iraq and staffed, in part, by GRA team members. The mission provided evidence presented at the trial of Saddam Hussein and six other members of the former Iraqi regime charged with crimes against humanity. Link to articleJanuary 26, 2008
Dr. Schuldenrein will be presenting a paper at the 73rd annual meeting of the Society of American Archaeology in Vancouver, Canada (March 26 - March 30, 2008).Multiple GRA staff members will be presenting papers at the Sixth World Archaeological in Dublin, Ireland (June 29 - July 4, 2008).

The new GRA website is launched in December 2007. New content will be added to the site in the near future emphasizing recent projects and initiatives undertaken by GRA.Several staff members from GRA will be presenting papers at the 2008 Society for Historical Archaeology conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The symposium (Forensic Archaeology: a Case Study from Muthanna Province, Iraq) will be held on the morning of January 12th and highlight work that GRA participated in from 2005 to 2007 excavating a mass grave attributed to the Baathist regime of Saddam Hussein and repatriating the remains of the Kurdish victims. Michael K. Trimble and Nancy J. Brighton,USACE, chair the symposium.
