Susan Malin-Boyce

Staff Archeologist

Dr. Susan Malin-Boyce had ten years project management and contract administration experience in the New York City construction industry prior to returning to pursue an advanced degree in anthropology. Her Old World research, conducted in west-central Europe and South Asia has focused on mapping and settlement pattern analyses of large and complex prehistoric habitation sites. A material culture specialization in ceramic analysis has facilitated her research with European Iron Age and Roman period pottery in Germany and France, and with Indus Valley Harappan period materials in Pakistan. Dr. Malin-Boyce has authored and co-authored articles published in texts addressing complex societies of the European Iron Age. She received her Ph.D. from New York University. Working in the Eastern United States, Dr. Malin-Boyce managed large-scale CRM projects that utilized both traditional archaeological and geophysical survey methods. Recently, she fulfilled the role of Field Director and Deputy Director for the Regime Crimes Liaison Office Iraq Mass Graves Team investigations. Since her return to the United States, Dr. Malin-Boyce resumed her work in northeastern archaeology with projects in New York and Pennsylvania.
