Archaeological Field/Lab Technician (2017) Archaeological and Historic Resource Services, Inc., Rock Tavern, NY. Duties included Phase II survey and excavation within the Abbot Farm National Landmark Archaeological and Historic District in Bordentown, New Jersey.
Archaeological Consultant (2016) Heritage Perspectives, Inc., Westport, CT. Duties included Phase III data recovery excavation at the Henry Lloyd Manor house and pre-contact shell midden complex, Lloyd Harbor, New York.
Archaeological Consultant, Field/Lab Technician, and Archaeological Monitor (2015-2016) Geoarchaeology Research Associates, Inc., Yonkers, NY. Duties included survey and excavation, artifact processing/analysis, technical report graphics, and archaeological monitoring in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Adjunct Faculty – Lecturer (Fall 2014) Department of Anthropology, Stony Brook University. Lecturer for upper division undergraduate course “Prehistoric Peoples of the Americas,” which examines the culture history of life in the Americas from the first settlement at the end of the last ice age until the arrival of Europeans in the 15th and 16th centuries.

Duties include archival research, supervising field and laboratory work, conducting archaeological surveys, site evaluations, and data recovery operations, assessing site integrity and research potential, archaeological monitoring, graphic design for report maps/figures (Adobe Photoshop), managing artifact collections, database management, and technical report writing.
Archaeological Field Technician (2014) The Public Archaeology Facility, Binghamton University, Binghamton, NY. Duties included survey and excavation of shovel test pits for the Mesonet Weather Station on the campus of Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, New York.
Historic Preservation Assistant (2012-2014) Southold Landmarks Preservation Commission (SLPC), Southold, New York. Duties include updating and centralizing database for historic architecture and landmark properties previously identified by the Society for the Preservation of Long Island Antiquities (SPLIA).
Graphic Design – Research Consultant (2013) “Preserving Church Lane: Applied Anthropology and History in a Long Island African-American Community,” Long Island Historical Journal, Volume 23, Issue 2. Designed all publication graphics with Adobe Photoshop; including site maps, historic aerial imagery, and photography. Conducted archival deed research at the Suffolk County Courthouse on history of Church Lane property transactions.
Public Outreach – Tribal Consultation (2013) Shinnecock Indian Nation, assisted tribal members in examining eroded slopes on reservation lands for prehistoric artifacts and/or disturbed archaeological deposits exposed in areas damaged by Hurricane Sandy.
Teaching Assistant (2012) Department of Anthropology, Stony Brook University. “Long Island Archaeology.” Produced PowerPoint presentations for all lectures and graded multiple choice/short answer portions of exams.
Public Outreach – Educational Presentation (2012) Oysterponds Historical Society, Webb House Historic site. In conjunction with the release of the children’s book “The Wampum Exchange,” I lectured to local children about the Contact Period history and archaeology of wampum shell beads.
Teaching Assistant (2011) Howard Hughes Medical Institute, 2011 Holiday Lectures on Science, “Bones, Stones, and Genes: The Origin of Modern Humans” Assisted Dr. John Shea in leading a flintknapping workshop with High School students participating in the conference.
Public Outreach – Educational Presentation (2011) Bayridge Elementary School (P.S.-247), Bayridge, Brooklyn, NY, David Bernstein and I gave a presentation to local children about the archaeology of Long Island, and I also demonstrated basic techniques of flint-knapping to students.
Public Outreach – Education (2011-2012) Oysterponds School District. Consulted with school staff to help develop a basic curriculum on Long Island prehistory and archaeological practice for their section on Native American studies.
Museum Consultant (2011-2012) Oysterponds Historical Society. Aided in the curation of the prehistoric component of two local archaeology exhibits. The first, “Orient’s Changing Face” in 2011, which addressed themes of assimilation and immigration interpreted through historical documents and archaeological resources. Second, “A Legacy of Treasures” a broad-based exhibit intended to promote the diversity and quality of historical society artifact collections.
Archaeological Monitor (2009-2010) Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA), National Park Service, performed archaeological monitoring for SCWA’s trenching and replacing of outdated pipes to improve water utilities at Watch Hill in the Fire Island National Seashore.
Public Outreach – Tribal Consultation (2010) Montaukett Indian Nation, assisted Dr. David Bernstein in consulting tribal members about potential threats to burial sites in the Stony Hill area of Amagansett, NY.
Volunteer Crew Member (2007) Potter Paleoindian Site, “Oktoberfest 2007” Excavation Project, State Conservation and Rescue Archaeology Program (SCRAP), Randolph, New Hampshire (Richard Boisvert, Director, Deputy State Archaeologist). Participated in the public excavation of a Late Paleoindian settlement in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Archaeological Consultant – Museum Consultant (2007) Peconic Land Trust, Fort Corchaug. Researched and designed the artifact exhibit from the Ralph Solecki Collection, housed at the Ralph Solecki Visitor Center; including research materials from his excavations at the Seventeenth Century Native American Fort, Fort Corchaug and from the Terminal Archaic, Baxter Site.
Crew Chief (2004-2006) Archaeological Testing and Consulting, Inc., Silver Spring, MD. Duties included supervision of field crew, surveying and cartography of sites, site excavation, photography, artifact analysis, metal detection surveys in vicinity of Civil War sites, and graphic design for maps/figures (Photoshop/Illustrator).

Laboratory Crew Member (2001-2002) Qwu?Gwes Wet Site Archaeology Laboratory, South Puget Sound Community College, Olympia, Washington. As an intern during my senior year of undergraduate studies, I performed primary research on the quantitative variability of the Qwu?Gwes site’s unique wet site shell midden; and also directly assisted each of the lab’s lithic, faunal, and basketry/wood preservation specialists involved in the project.
